A 17 year old with a bulge in his R groin

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
8.) What are the possible surgical complications? What is the risk of recurrent hernia?

Surgical complications: chronic pain (nerve entrapment), numbness, seroma, ischemic orchitis, injury to vas deferens. Structures in the triangle of doom include the vas deferens and the testicular vessels



Risk of recurrence after Lichtenstein repair is 1%.
