Detail:
Clinical: Acral lentiginous melanoma occurs on the palms, soles, ungual and periungual areas. Most common presentation of melanoma in African Americans.

Histology: Melanoma cells appear identical to tumor cells seen in the other 3 clincopatholgic presentations. The most significant difference is the thick stratum corneum commonly seen in the skin of the distal extremities.
