BURNS AND CRITICAL CARE  
Case #3 - A 62 year old deteriorating postoperatively

 
CLINICAL CASE:
A 62 year old man presents to the emergency room with three days of right lower quadrant pain. He is quickly diagnosed with appendicitis and undergoes emergent appendectomy. Exploration reveals diffuse peritonitis. During the case he remains hypotensive, tachycardic, and febrile. His urine output is 15-20 cc/hour. He weighs 83 Kg.
