Dr. Allison Webel is the Interim Robert G. and Jean A. Reid Executive Dean at the University of Washington’s School of Nursing. She is also an Aljoya Endowed Professor in Aging, Associate Editor of the Journal of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care, and the Co-Chair of the International HIV Nursing Research Network.
Dr. Webel founded the UW Webel Research Lab, where they focus on generating high-quality evidence to help people with HIV live and age well, with an emphasis on diet and exercise. The lab coordinates the PROSPER-HIV study, which investigates how physical activity and diet intake impact the symptom experience of adults living with HIV. The lab also co-leads the EXTRA-CVD study, which tests a nurse-led intervention to reduce blood pressure and cholesterol in adults living with HIV; and the HEALTH study, a clinical trial testing high intensity interval training on fatigue and physical function in older adults with HIV.
