For over four decades, under Dr. Linehan’s leadership, research at the BRTC was focused primarily on the development and evaluation of psychotherapies for individuals with severe and chronic personality disorders, with an emphasis on the understanding, assessment, and treatment of suicidal behaviors. Most research had focused on treatment development for suicidal individuals meeting criteria for borderline personality disorder. Most of this research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health.
The BRTC’s research program ended with Dr. Linehan’s retirement in 2019.
