The Varani group uses Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) to study the three-dimensional structures of RNA and small molecules, peptides, and proteins binding. We aim to understand how RNA structure contributes to biochemical function, particularly in chronic diseases such as cancer, and in viral biology with the ultimate goal of designing chemical agonists that alter RNA functional biochemistry
