Josh (Jakie) was born and raised in Metro Manila, Philippines and grew up in Southern California before completing his undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and commissioning as a Nuclear Submarine Officer through NROTC.
After almost 9 years as a Submariner, including 3 years at University of Washington as an NROTC instructor, he hopes to complete his Dual Masters in Public Administration and Social Work at UW by June 2026.
In his free time, he enjoys photography, travel, listening to audiobooks, board games, and being outside in any capacity.
