Student Veteran Life

Welcome to Student Veteran Life!

Student Veteran Life was established in 2015 as a unit for student veterans founded by student veterans. The office can be found in the Husky Union Building room 327 and is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Our office is home to a staff of veterans that can help you navigate your time at the University of Washington. From providing campus referrals to creating new and innovative resources and programs for students, we are able to serve student veterans at any point in their college experience.

Student Veteran Life is also a great place for veterans to study, grab a free cup of coffee, use the printer, or just hang out and meet other veterans. On average, the office sees 20-30 veterans per day, a number that is continuously growing!

As an organization, we make it our mission to reach our new student veterans within the first 90 days that they are on campus. In doing so, we hope to maintain communication throughout their time here, ensuring that all student veterans leave the UW with the most positive experience, a diploma in hand, and a path to meaningful employment for their future.

Though the Student Veteran Life is already providing or has initiated a number of valuable programs, there is much to be done in the years to come.

Student Veteran Life is just one of two offices that serve student veterans’ needs at the University of Washington. Student Veteran Life can help with all non-financial related issues while the Veterans Education Benefits Office is here to help with all G.I. Bill and financial aid related questions.
