To the young aspiring filmmakers who want to send a powerful message: the UW Climate Change Video Contest is for you. The school of environmental and forest sciences (SEFS) and UW EarthLab wants you to answer the prompt:
Together we can tackle climate change. What would it take to turn the tide?
Short-films must be two minutes or less and can take on any genre. You may submit as a team or an individual. This year’s contest is open to all Washington state high school and undergraduate students. Judge’s pick wins $4,000; people’s choice wins $2,500.
The top videos will proceed to the finalist round and will be screened at the UW Climate Change Video Awards in early May, the public awards ceremony where we announce the winners. A panel of climate scientists, filmmakers, and artists will discuss the videos and award prizes.
Excited to see your films,
