Little Hands Creations is a growing educational sewing and crafting company. We work with elementary schools around Seattle, Bellevue, and Shoreline, and teach in their after-school enrichment programs.
The number one priority for the position is the ability to create a fun and safe environment for our students. Sewing and craft experience can be minimal, but the desire to work with groups of children is an absolute must! You must be enthusiastic, cheerful, and dependable, with your own reliable transportation.
Sewing projects range from doll clothing, stuffed animals, purses, bags, games, and full sized clothing. Craft projects usually tie in with a fabric or paper crafting theme.
We provide all the projects, you just teach the classes! Each week day, the class is held at a different elementary school, and it is the responsibility of the instructor to transport the equipment from school to school (thus the need for a car). Class size is 9 and students ages range from 7-10 years old.
The position will start training ASAP for our upcoming Fall Session, with approximately 18 hours per week (roughly 2:00-5:00, Monday-Friday). We also work with the school’s calendar and run in quarters, so there are weeks of furlough around Christmas, Spring Break, etc.
Please send me a resume and a letter of introduction detailing your experience with children, sewing, and why this position appeals to you! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Charlie Jones, UW alum, currently has the job and would like to recommend UW alum as they apply.
