Art Studio Programs Intern Winter Quarter 2020
Title: Art Studio Programs Intern – unpaid Department/Location: Education, SAM Downtown Staff Mentor: Assistant Manager for Studio Programs
Learning Objectives: Work across audiences and develop interactive art making experiences that relate to the special exhibition and/ or specific education goals.
Intern Tasks:
- Work with teaching artists as an assistant during school field-trips.
- Help with Art supply management.
- Help monitor spaces that have self-guided art activities.
- Expected time commitment: Mornings work best from 930- 1PM Wed- Friday with some flexibility
Qualifications:
- Interest in teaching and a personal artistic practice, interest in interpretive work
- Ability to work with staff and volunteers in a professional manner on a variety of tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively to staff, volunteers and public.
- Basic filing, typing and computer skills.
- Ability to ask for help and accept supervision and evaluation of your work.
- Abide by the Standards for Museum Volunteers/Interns as outlined in the
- Fine Arts or education majors
