Prison Voice Washington Seeks Volunteer Designer

Prison Voice Washington seeks volunteer designer

Nonprofit organization Prison Voice Washington, in conjunction with the Concerned Lifers Organization, the Black Prisoners Caucus and the Latino Development Organization, is organizing a candlelight vigil on the steps of the capitol building in Olympia on MLK Jr Day, January 2020, to raise awareness of the role that Washington State has played in mass incarceration.

This event is seeking a cohesive design that could be used at the vigil with the potential of utilizing some of the same visual data for future events surrounding Washington State’s sentencing practices.

This is an opportunity for a design student looking to take on a volunteer project for a nonprofit organization dedicated to the redesign and update of Washington’s broken prison system. Prison Voice Washington introduces common sense, humanity, and the latest scientific research into policy discussions. Their goal is to improve both the lives of our prisoners and the safety of our communities.
