LiveWell Seeks Peer Health Educators

Do you want to improve your public speaking skills? Are you passionate about health and wellness topics and educating others? As a LiveWell Peer Health Educator (PHE) you are paid to grow and learn, teach to your peers, and get involved in community health promotion as well as prevention work!

LiveWell is a student-life office that offers free services and education for UW-Seattle students related to health promotion, prevention, risk-reduction, case management, student coaching, and confidential advocacy. LiveWell employs both health promotion efforts and individual intervention services to promote better health and well-being for students and the campus community. Empowerment is at the heart of the work of LiveWell. LiveWell’s services involve the Student Care & Coaching Program, the Suicide Intervention Program, confidential Advocacy services for students impacted by interpersonal violence, and the Peer Health Education Program.

LiveWell’s Peer Health Education Program uses interactive workshops, 1-1 wellness coaching, outreach, and event programming to promote individual and community health and well-being. Peer Health Educators (PHEs) engage in health promotion, prevention, and early intervention within the following areas: stress management, sleep, relationships and intimacy wellness, self-awareness and self-image, alcohol and substance use, anxiety, supporting peers, interpersonal violence, and helping skills/bystander intervention. Peer Health Educators share responsibility for nurturing respectful team dynamics, giving growth-oriented feedback, and modeling ethical leadership as student leaders at the University of Washington. You will receive weekly supervision from the Training & Education Coordinator (Jen Laxague).
