Announcing CoCA’s Board /Administration Internship
CoCA, Seattle’s Center on Contemporary Art, has proudly served the Pacific
Northwest as a catalyst & forum for contemporary art for 39 years. Our nonprofit
art gallery is in Pioneer Square. We are seeking an Intern for an exciting role in
support of our Board & Admin operations.
Our Board/ Admin Intern will learn the art of nonprofit Board communications &
administration working alongside our Executive Director and our Board of
Directors. Internship length is 6-12 months. Time commitment is 10 hours
weekly plus 3 gallery docent/ event shifts monthly. Some scheduling flexibility is
available. Immerse yourself in the Seattle art community as you gain valuable
skills as a CoCA Intern.
CoCA’s Board/ Admin Intern will learn new skills in a supportive, dynamic, and
diverse environment. We will teach you about nonprofit Board of Directors work
including taking meeting minutes, setting action items, completing special Board
projects, organizing information, and working with our databases. All CoCA
Interns meet amazing local artists, curators, and art lovers. The ideal CoCA
Board/ Admin Intern is organized, accountable, inclusive, passionate about the
art world, and invested in learning great communication.
Although this is an uncompensated role, school credit, CoCA Membership, letters
of recommendation & numerous other benefits are available. CoCA Interns
receive hands-on, project-based experience and mentoring, the opportunity to
meet local art professionals, and a flexible work schedule.
