Choose a sample project for your project topic and/or application design to practice Material Selection by using CES. The abstracts briefly describe the sample projects followed by a link that opens a PDF with the project's complete description.

Headlight Filament: Find the best material to be used as the filament of an automotive light bulb. You will consider material properties of service temperature, electrical conductivity, oxidation resistant, Tensile strength, and cost.

Guitar Case: Have a Guitar? Design a new carrying case for it and pick the best material for the job. The qualities this material would need are strong, wear resistance, and inexpensive.

|   Project Description   |

Cell Phone Faceplate: Need a new faceplate for your cell phone? Selected the material by weight, cost, mouldability, and durability.

|   Project Description   |

Surfboard Shell: Discover the best material to be used for a surfboards outside shell. This selection process will rely on mechanical properties like strength and flexibility.

|   Project Description   |

Toilet body: Find the best material for make a toilet. Material selection requirements that are important are strength, hardness, water resistant, cost, and processing type.
