Continuing Education > 3-day Training

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the training in 2020. We plan to be back in 2021. Watch for announcements, or contact Beth to be notified when more informati0n is available.

General information

This conference provides up-to-date, evidence-based pediatric nutrition information for RDs. This training is an excellent addition to the RD's Professional Development Portfolio and can be used to help document the dietitian's competencies with children of different ages as required by JCAHO. At the end of the conference, participants will become members of an on-going Pediatric Nutrition Consultation On-Line listserve.

Throughout the conference, speakers emphasize decision-making processes and the use of evidence-based practice. Teaching methods include lecture, interactive discussions, demonstration, and case-based learning, and participants are encouraged to submit case examples and individual learning objectives ahead of time.

Participants will be automatically subscribed to the closed listserve, Pediatric Nutrition Consultation On-Line, which provides ongoing pediatric nutrition consultation and resources.

Registration is limited to facilitate interactive, small group learning experiences and to promote the development of clinical competencies.

Detailed information

In addition to our traditional 3-day conference, we are adding a 2-day option with advanced content

Option 1
Our “traditional” 3-day conference that is intended for RDNs and other professionals who work with pediatric populations and have not had extensive or recent training and experience in pediatric nutrition

Option 2
This 2-day option is intended for RDNs who have attended a previous Assuring Pediatric Nutrition conference or who have a solid foundation in pediatric nutrition. Several topics will be addressed in-depth, with a combination of didactic (lecture) and active learning.

Option 3
This “best value” option combines Options 1 and 2

What past trainees have said about the training

Simply being exposed to the knowledge and expertise presented makes me much more comfortable with issues that come up. I know where to look or turn if I don't know the answer.

I learned a great deal at the training and have found many aspects of it helpful. I think the most helpful was meeting "the experts" and obtaining resources. I do not feel so isolated now.

I'm so impressed with all the speakers! They are tremendously knowledgeable. I feel I'll be able to help our local WIC agencies much better, when nutrition special needs / questions come up!

I have learned so much and feel more secure in knowing there is access to professionals in the field who can help with problem solving.
