Abstract: This project will benefit the public by providing opportunities for volunteers and student assistants to participate in and be trained regarding the historic preservation efforts of a valued cultural resource. The participants will receive direct experience in all of the aspects of historic preservation project planning and execution, working closely with historic preservation professionals. In addition, a UVM student and other student volunteers will receive education and training in the preservation of heavy timber mining and other structures. Details regarding the project will be publicly available through the JOTR website and social media platforms for informational and educational purposes.
