HIPRC’s INSIGHT Research Program is an intensive, eight-week summer internship for undergraduate and graduate students, and a four week program for high school students. INSIGHT provides research experience and mentorship for undergraduate, graduate and first year medical students who are interested in injury research. Participants are matched to research projects and partnered with University of Washington Medical School faculty and work alongside peers and health professionals from across the country. Past research areas include elucidating the risk factors and causes of injuries, injury prevention strategies, acute and chronic care of injured patients, outcomes from trauma, and interventions to return the injured individual to their full potential.
- June 12 – August 4, 2017. Students must be able to commit to this entire period in order to participate.

*Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident and are eligible to work in the U.S or hold a valid student visa or have DACA status.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- The INSIGHT Summer Research Program accepts students from the following grade levels:
- Preference is given to students entering the junior or senior year in Fall 2017. Graduating seniors are also eligible.
- 1st or 2nd year graduate students
- 1st year medical students
