Laboratory Education Opportunity at Fred Hutch

Symbiosis Laboratory Education

Interested in research but have no prior lab experience? Symbiosis laboratory education at the Fred Hutch is hosting crash course sessions beginning in January aimed at teaching undergraduates about basic techniques in molecular biology. Students will perform various techniques including gel electrophoresis, polymerase chain reaction, DNA purification, and other selected topics. In addition, students will learn about the biological mechanisms behind each technique and understand its importance to science. Each course lasts 10 hours over two days and costs $49.99. At the end of the course, each student will receive a certificate accrediting him or her in basic molecular biology techniques. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Contact Nevin Kalaf at nkalaf@symbiosislabeducation.org or visit http://symbiosislabeducation.org/ for more information. Course dates for winter quarter 2018 are listed below:

– January 27th and 28th
