Acceptance Angle Only photons that hit the Target Cylinder with an inclination angle with absolute value less than the acceptance angle will be passed on to the collimator/detector/binning modules and/or a photon history list, i.e., a photon will be passed on if the absolute value of its z-direction cosine if less than or equal to the cosine of the acceptance angle.
Coincidence Data This is paired tracking photon data. Internally we refer to photons as blue and pink to differentiate between the two photons created by a 511 keV electron anihiliation. For DHCI imaging, both photons must pass through the detector successfully to produce coincidence data.
Collimated Photons This is a list of tracking photons that have successfully passed through the collimator.
Detected Events This is the information passed from the detector module to the binning module describing photons that have deposited energy in the detector within the acceptance parameters of the detector module. The PHG_TrackingPhoton structure is used for convenience, but the information can no longer be considered as a description of a photon. The location field is used to specify the computed centroid and is in tomograph relative coordinates. A separate detector location field is used to specify the centroid in detector relative coordinates. A list of detector interactions is provided.
Detected Photon Data See Detected Events.
Object cylinder The largest regular right cylinder that will fit within the rectangular parallelepiped describing the object in the PHG run-time parameter file. See object editor page
Target cylinder A bounding surface specied in the Photon History Generator (PHG) run-time parameters file. The Target Cylinder must lie between the object cylinder and the collimator; it often makes sense to define it as the inner most surface of the collimater. The PHG will pass on (to the collimator/detector/binning modules and/or a photon history list) information about photons which pass through the side (as opposed to the ends) of this cylinder within the Acceptance Angle. - it is the effective "Field of View" for the object tracking phase of the simulation. See the PHG page.
Tracking Photon Data This is the information maintained to track a photon through the imaging system. Its definition can be found in the source file Photon.h, the name of the structure is PHG_TrackingPhoton.
Uncollimated Photons This is a list of tracking photons that have reached the target cylinder within the acceptance parameters of the PHG module.
