- Spring 2001: CONGRATULATIONS to Mariza de Andrade
(Biostatistics, Ph.D., 1990)
who has been promoted to Associate Professor at the Mayo.
- Spring 2001: CONGRATULATIONS to Heike Bickeboller
Heike Bickeb"oller (Statistics Ph.D., 1993) has been appointed to
a full C3 Professorship at University of G"ottingen, Germany, as
head of a new Department of Genetic Epidemiology there.
- Winter 2001:
The Graduate School Council has voted
unanimously to approve the
Statistical Genetics Graduate Certificate program.
2000:
- Fall 2000:
The Graduate School has approved the
Statistical Genetics Ph.D. tracks in Statistics and Biostatistics.
- Fall 2000: Dr. Matthew Stephens has joined us
as faculty in the Statistics Department. For a

- Fall 2000: Dr. Andrew George, from the Roslin
Institute, Edinburgh, has joined us in a post-doctoral
position in the Statistics Department.

core STAT/BIOST sequence in Statistical
Genetics is being offered for the second time in 2000-1.
