Rebecca M. Price, Ph.D.
Professor
School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences
University of Washington Bothell
Dr. Becca Price researches how college students learn science, and how scientists learn to teach college students. Dr. Price has been directing STEP-WISE, and mentoring fellows, since 2011. She has been the Executive Director since 2014. She grew STEP-WISE from another professional development program that helped postdocs learn to teach. In the re-envisioned program, postdocs began to use active and inclusive teaching methods—practices that research supports as particularly effective. A professor in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington Bothell, Dr. Price teaches students to conduct scientific research and encourages them to think about how they’ll use their college and other life experiences in a way that is gratifying to them after graduation.
