the aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware

As a first-generation college student who entered college at the age of 30 and a single-mom, my passion is education, especially for first-generation, economically disadvantaged, and single-parent students who want to go to college.

I have worked at the University of Washington's Office of Minority Affairs since 1990 when I graduated from the UW with a B.A. in English, a B.A. in History, and Secondary Education Academics completed for certification. I am in the last phase of completing my Master's in Technology & Learning with Washington Governors University.

My positions have included Academic Bridge Administrator, Instructor, and Trainer. My current position at the UW is Curriculum Coordinator and Instructor/Trainer for TRIO Training, a federally funded program, in which we help TRIO staff across the nation integrate technology into the curriculum with the purpose of helping TRIO students to succeed in higher education.
