Overview
JUDGING OPPORTUNITY!!!
Trainees who complete this training will be placed into a pool of possible judges for an opportunity to judge in the TTQ 2006 competition. |
TRIO ThinkQuest Success Using Rubric Driven Curriculum
This training is for all TRIO staff who want to envolve their students in authentic learning i.e., having students learn as they do. In this case students will learn to research, write, collaborate, and manage a project to completion.
The goal of this training is to help TRIO staff successfully coach TRIO students in creating educational websites while emphasizing the TTQ Rubric in their curriculum. Emphasizing the rubric in the curriculum is crucial in order for students to make it as finalists in the competition.
There are five units (4 are required, 1 is optional) and nine lessons to help achieve this goal. Each lesson addresses an educational objective for the course. You can work at your own pace for much of the course, but you will have some interactivities in Unit 3 that will require you to participate in an online group in order to complete a judging activity.
Although this course is more extensive than our other online courses, it is designed so that you can approach it when you have time. Some tasks may take you a few minutes, others, depending on how much you want to research, will take you a little longer.

To help you complete the course a Job Aide is attached so that you can note what you need to learn as you go. There is also a Training Completion Checklist to help you keep track of what you have done. Please print these now; they will speed your completion.
Course Delivery: The course will be delivered online through this site and Macromedia Breeze Presenter. Breeze allows audio and video, so you will be able to hear (and sometimes see) instruction as well as read it. You will be able to access these presentations after you take the Pre-Course Assessment. |
Course Requirements: To complete this course, trainees must take a pre/post-course assessment and online quizzes, participate in an online judging activity, review an example of rubric driven curriculum, post helpful links, generate an action plan, and complete the training evaluation. |
