TRIO ThinkQuest Success Using Rubric Driven Curriculum

What is TRIO ThinkQuest?

TRIO ThinkQuest is an educational Web design activity for teams of 2-4 students in TRIO middle and high school programs across the nation. TRIO is a federally funded program to assist non-traditional students to enter and graduate from college.

TRIO ThinkQuest promotes collaboration and project managment, as well as the use of today's technology. It emphasizes 21st century research, writing, intellectual honesty, and educational fair use rules, all of which are essential skills for success in higher education.

TRIO ThinkQuest has been in effect since 2000. Click TRIO ThinkQuest 2005 Winners to view examples of student-built educational Web sites from TRIO programs around the nation in 2005.

Exciting News!

TRIO ThinkQuest and ThinkQuest International have joined together in partnership! This means that TRIO programs can now enter Oracle's educational web site competition called ThinkQuest International. Eight TRIO programs are already competing in the May 2006 competition:

Berea University, KT, UBMS
CSU Chico, CA, UB
CSU Monterey Bay, CA, UB
Lincoln University, PA, UB
Portland State University, OR, UB
University of South Dakota, UBMS
University of Texas El Paso, ETS
University of Washington, UB

For those of you who think they would like their students to also participate in ThinkQuest International (TQI), an optional training Unit will soon be available to help you make the move from TTQ to TQI.

This partnership is great news for TRIO students!
