My name is Iris. I am seventeen years old and I will be a senior in high school. I like to play volleyball, read and write poetry, and listen to indie, rock, and alternative music. I planned to go to the University of Washington and I want to major in biology.

This is my second year in the UW Upward Bound program but my first year doing Trio Think Quest. Doing this project was a great challenge, especially in writing because of all the controversies relating to the topic of the Nanking Massacre. I found myself both obsessed and stressed out by this topic, since I was quite interested in the topic but struggled a lot in finding accurate information supporting the facts I used in the site. Another struggle was creating a balance between both the Japanese and Chinese perspectives.
