Overview | Chinese Perspectives | Japanese Perspectives
There is a lot of controversy concerning “The Rape of Nanking.” There are allegations of torture by the Japanese soldiers, but not always eyewitnesses who could confirm these events. After the war there were a lot of Japanese soldiers who denied claims of rape or torture of the Chinese, but there exist stories, diaries, and testimonies that say otherwise. Both the Japanese and Chinese perspectives have been published explaining what happened during that time.
