Welcome to the University of Washington
Upward Bound Web Site
Upward Bound is a federally funded program which has two major goals:
-
To encourage and assist students to graduate from high school.
-
To prepare students to enter and complete a postseconday education program.
|
We are one of over 500 Upward Bound Programs
in the United States. |
The program at the University of Washington's Office of Minority Affairs is a year-round program serving qualified students at Cleveland, Franklin, and Nathan Hale High School . There is both an Academic Year and a Summer Component.
New students are admitted the semester before the Summer Program. Once admitted, students must attend all summers until graduation, as well as participate in classes during the academic year. The Upward Bound Program is 100% federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education at $410,987 annually.
All new Students are on probation. Probation begins in the summer and ends during the first part of the Academic Year. If students do not pass probation they cannot continue with the Upward Bound Program.
