Dan Nowacki is a graduate student in the School of Oceanography at the University of Washington and an honorary member of UW-EFM. He has an M.S.E. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. Before coming to UW he was a hydrologist at the U.S. Geological Survey. His research focuses primarily on sediment transport in tidally influenced fluvial and coastal environments. Some of his current and recent project locations include the tidal Amazon River, Brazil, the Willapa Bay mudflats, Washington, and the Columbia River plume, Washington.
