Carla Geiger
After completing two years of residency in the PhD Music
Education program at the University of Washington, Carla served as the
Assistant Director of Bands at Florida International University in
Miami from 2007-2009. While at the UW Carla served for two years as a
Graduate
Assistant Director with the Husky Marching Band. A native of West Palm
Beach, Florida, she received the degree Master of Music (Wind
Conducting emphasis) from the University of Florida in 2005, serving as
a Graduate Assistant with the UF Gator Marching Band, volleyball,
basketball, and concert bands. She also received the degree Bachelor of
Music in Music Education from UF. Carla served in the United States
Navy as a clarinet and saxophone instrumentalist, performing with the
Pacific Fleet Band at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and the Atlantic Fleet Band
in Norfolk, Virginia. She is a Life Member of Tau Beta Sigma, an
honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi, and a member of Women Band
Directors International.
