Scott Fry
Scott Fry is in the Director of Bands at Emerald Ridge High School in
Puyallup, WA. Scott earned his MM in Instrumental Conducting at the UW
and was a student of Timothy Salzman. Prior to his study at UW, he
served as a graduate assistant at the University of Colorado, where he
was co-director of the CU Campus, Concert, and Basketball bands.
Mr. Fry earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Education
from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He was band
director in the Bethel Public Schools (Tacoma, WA) for four years,
where he directed jazz, marching, athletic, and concert bands. Mr. Fry
has also performed extensively as a freelance percussionist with
various orchestral, wind, chamber and jazz ensembles in the
Seattle/Tacoma area.
Mr. Fry has studied instrumental conducting with Raydell
Bradley at Pacific Lutheran University and Allan McMurray at the
University of Colorado, and choral conducting with Joan Conlon at the
University of Colorado.
