The Rights & Repro Intern will work with the Assistant Registrar – Rights & Reproductions and the Legal Counsel to organize and inventory reproduction and photography contracts and related materials. During this internship, the intern will develop an understanding of photography, copyright, and reproduction agreements and related laws, will help to apply standards to organize and manage these materials, and will gain experience in legal/contract archival standards as they pertain to rights and reproductions.
The Photo Archives Intern will work with the Assistant Registrar-Rights and Reproductions and the Librarian to organize and inventory 80+ years of photographic materials related to the Seattle Art Museum, its exhibitions, programs, staff, and history. During this internship, the intern will develop a solid understanding of the wide-range of photographic materials in our collection, work with and continue to develop and apply standards to identify materials, and gain experience and understanding of archival standards and they pertain to a museum and its collection.
Assist with development, administration, and partnerships for SAM’s Teen Programs including Teen Night Out, SAM’s Teen Arts Group (TAG) and Teen Art Lab workshops. Interns will experience the full process involved in creating and implementing museum programs, including assistingwiththeprogrammingforawide-rangeofevents,collaboratingwithlocal organizations, learning how to develop and lead gallery tours, and administrative support.
Family Programs +Education Center Intern
Assist with development, administration, and partnerships for SAM’s Family Programs including FamilyFun Workshops and Free First Saturdays for Kids. Interns will experience the full process involved in creating and implementing museum programs, including assisting with the programming for a wide-range of events, collaborating with local organizations, learning how to develop and lead gallery tours, and administrative support.
