Camp Mah-Kee-Na hiring for multiple seasonal positions

Woodshop Director: 

We are looking for an artistic, hardworking, and passionate staff member who can lead our woodshop. Camp Mah-Kee-Nac is a traditional, seven-week overnight all-boys camp located in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. We hire staff from all around the world so we love to work with individuals who are excited about meeting new people and having extraordinary experiences. This is the perfect job to help build your portfolio and gain experience.

Qualifications:

-Dexterous, responsible & organized

-Training and teaching experience in woodworking

-Must possess a desire to work with campers of varying skill ability levels

Responsibilities:

-Serve as an outstanding role model to campers and staff

-Train creative art staff in woodworking and all safety procedures during orientation

-Plan, organize and execute all activities for woodshop

-Care and Inventory of equipment

General Camp Responsibilities:

-Help out with coverage on camper campus when needed

-Attend some Director meetings when necessary

-Assist in the planning and execution of additional camp activities and special events

-To ensure the safety and care of our campers

Media Team Leader:

Qualifications:

-Must be able to supervise all media staff

-2+ Years of Photography & Videography experience is preferred.

-Ability to use editing programs such as Lightroom and Photoshop

-Excellent organizational skills

-Fast learner and team player

Responsibilities:

-Care and Inventory of equipment

-Procuring information for blog posts, newsletters, and “week in review” that are sent to families.

-Edit and upload photos on a daily basis

As a counselor at Mah-Kee-Nac, you have an important dual role to play. Days are spent teaching/instructing in your area of expertise while evenings are spent with your campers at fun special events and nightly activities. Counselors must be patient, fun-loving, and genuinely concerned with the welfare and development of young people. We are looking for role models for our campers. You’ll be living and working with children, and passion is necessary.

Camp Photographer: 

As the camp photographer you are responsible for helping tell Mah-Kee-Nac’s story though pictures. Camp Mah-Kee-Nac is a traditional, seven-week overnight all-boys camp located in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. You should be hardworking, passionate, adaptable and artistic. This is the perfect job to help build your portfolio and gain experience with sports, portrait, photojournalism and landscape photography.

Qualifications:

-2+ Years of Photography Experience is preferred.

-Experience with editing programs such as Lightroom and Photoshop is a plus

-Able to build great rapport and have a strong interest in working with children

Responsibilities:

-Capture high quality images of campers, activities, special events, and facilities.

-Save, catalog, edit and upload images on a nightly basis for parents (with help from the entire media team)

-Teach photography classes throughout the day

-Help keep all social media platforms up to date with new daily content
