IT'S SHOWTIME!

Blox Talk

Many hospitalized children are unable to physically play with other children because of their illnesses. They lack social interactions and play time. It can be difficult for parents, siblings, and friends to visit patients because of exposure and travel distance.

Blox Talk is a game device that allows people to come together socially, but not physically. Blox Talk uses modular blocks that are placed on an interactive board, and then digitalizes the form on the screen. From there children can play with the blocks on the screen and talk to others.Children can play various games with others such as cooperatively working together to build a city or simple puzzle games. Let’s bring more play time in patients’ rooms!

Xbox Cobra

The current Xbox controller is not inclusive to people of all abilities and circumstances. After extensive gameplay research, we developed both an augmentation to the existing controller and an entirely new design. The one-handed controller design is dubbed “Cobra” for its snake-like shape. It has a unique rigged bottom that enhances gameplay by allowing the user to control movement by tilting the controller against a surface. This controller is the epitome of universal design: it opens the wide world of video gaming to single-handed players, as well as enhancing the experience of an able-bodied gamer by freeing up a hand. Single-handed gaming controllers are the future: they point to a better and more inclusive world.

Modi

I built Modi when I moved into a tiny apartment. It fits into an emerging class of furniture specifically designed to make the most of the smallest space. It is both a shelving unit and a desk, with convenient closed laptop storage. It also has pencil slots built into the structural supports. I explored classic woodworking construction techniques by using only wooden joinery and no hardware. Modi is carefully constructed out of mahogany with walnut accents.

Multibite

Parents and nannies struggle when picnicking with kids – kids like food cut up, but food perishes quickly, and utensils are easy to lose. Multibite is a modular snack food system that solves this problem. Multibite allows you to store and transport your food en route to a destination, and then slice it and serve it with ease, all in one modular container-slicer unit.
