Introduction
Solar aquatics is a form of wastewater treatment which uses plants and animals to create a microenvironment which works well with bacteria used in more traditional systems. Two examples of solar aquatic use are the treatment plant for the town of Ashfield in Massachusetts and the plant for Annapolis County in Nova Scotia. Both these projects demonstrate the benefits and problems associated with the implementation of a new technology.
