Skeletal muscle

We study function and disease-associated dysfunction of skeletal muscle, cardiac muscle, and central and peripheral nervous systems. Projects concerning skeletal muscle include:

  • Contractile dysfunction in Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • Developmental and epigenetic mechanisms using zebrafish and rat in vivo systems and human in vitro systems
  • Gene therapy approaches for Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • Gene therapy approaches for X-linked myotubular myopathy
  • Muscle spindle dysfunction in muscular dystrophies
  • Pathologic mechanisms of distal arthrogryposis
