Divya Avnoor is a PhD student in the Bioengineering department and the School of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. She obtained her B.S. and M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Pennsylvania State University in 2019 and 2021 respectively. Primarily interested in stem cell and tissue engineering, her thesis aims to apply these technologies developed in mammalian systems into fish cells for the development of cultivated (or tissue-engineered) fish. Alongside this long-term aim, she is currently working on a project focused on characterizing nemaline myopathy in-vitro using the NDRG’s 3D tissue engineering platform.
