Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Foodprint

Global warming is accelerating. And among the causes of this phenomenon which threatens humanity, meat consumption and cattle breeding animal occupy an important place. They represent the first source of CO2 emissions on the planet, ahead of the transport sector.  Many people are unaware of the foodprint of a piece of meat.
In my opinion, raising people’s awareness is therefore necessary so that people be warned of their over-consumption and their environmental impact in order to understand how to reduce it.

Hi! anyone who is reading this, here's some ways you help reduce your foodprint:

- Compost often! If you have a lot of left over food waste, starting a compost bin is a good idea.
- Buy/eat less beef and other meat. I know meat is a big part of a some people's meals, but lets try to not have it as often.
- You can even go vegan/vegetarian! It might not work with everyone's diet but if you can, you should try to.
- Buy locally grown food, support your local farmers! also, if it's local less carbon will be emitted shipping the food to you smile
- Buy organic food, its better for you and the environment.

Have a good day/night <3
