What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

I learned that dairy and meats are terrible for our carbon footprint (our planet in general). The mass produced animals are not fulfilling even though they are bought more than other things that are fulfilling and better for your and the plant. I think a good policy is to tax the meats higher so less people would want to buy it and would more likely bought things better for them/planet. We could also limit the amount of meat a person could buy or commercialize better foods/substitutions and make the produce section bigger. This could help world hunger greatly, if people buy less meat there will be more space to grow more vegetables.
I agree with how you believe dairy and meats are terrible for our carbon footprint. It would be pretty smart to tax people more on meats which would make people buy it less. Substitutions are also very smart because it can help people eat things besides meat.
