What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

I learned that even very minor choices in what you eat and do can affect your footprint in larger amounts than I had expected.
If I could then put a policy in place to try and help alleviate waste and world hunger, it'd be something along the lines of requiring stores and restaurants to donate food that isn't damaged or doesn't otherwise give cause for concern instead of just dumping it out at the end of the day. It would help with world hunger because it would be feeding those who need it while reducing waste from the huge amounts of food that is thrown out daily.
