I would like to share about a really cool program at my school that is carbon footprint friendly because it is a carpentry class that only uses wood destined to be thrown away and other landfill-destined materials to build furniture and bike racks and tables, for example there was a ski sale and the school program collected all the skis that a local bike shop deemed ‘useless’ and that were unsafe to sell and we made very nice ski Adirondack chairs out of skis and pallet wood. The program has also made great use of booths that would have been thrown out. It is a really good program that is focused on being accessible for other public schools with any budget large or small.
