What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food and Hunger
In this activity, I learned that I could be making better choices. Me choosing to get foods that come in a lot of plastic, and not recycling and composting is causing a lot of harm to the planet which will in the long run hurt everyone. I find that I over-consume instead of donating food to local shelters that need food more than I do. I often times find myself eating when I am bored when there are people out there that aren't eating at all. This assignment has caused me to rethink a lot of my decisions when it comes to food. I am going to look deeper into composting and reach out to local shelters to find out how I can help and what all I could donate to people in need.
En esa reflexión tiene mucha razón comemos sin pensar en que otras personas podrían no tener esa suerte así que desde aquí te doy mi apoyo en tu cruzada y te animo a seguir así
Hello, I agree with you but don't think that no plastic means organic and local. We have to be aware of our consumption of plastic and then we have to know where our food come from.
Maybe your pineapple isn't in a plastic packaging but it has made a long travel to come in our shops. And this travel pollutes a lot. That's why we have to eat more local. And I want to talk about meat. We have and we should reduce our meat consumption. Over the animal pain it pollutes a lot and it deforests a lot. But we need trees to live, to breathe. In our high school we have a vegetarian menu everyday and I think that's a good move. And you, do you reduce your meat consumption ?
