In the Northern Hemisphere in 2017 and 2018 brought several destructive hurricanes to the shores of North America, the Caribbean, and throughout the Pacific rim. Such extreme weather events are predicted to get more common and more severe with increasing climate change.
Several participating classes in the ISCFC were or are in the path of these storms and we hope for the best for them, their families and communities.
We would love to hear from students affected directly and indirectly by extreme weather events, and also any students who have been following the news this summer.
What are your thoughts about the connection between climate change and extreme weather events? Has this hurricane season increased your concern about climate change or not? Do you think that US citizens and residents (and others in the region) will take climate change more seriously now?

Heat waves

Becuase climate change is effecting us in a big way, heat waves have gotten a lot common than it has ever been. This is due to the heat from forest fires are making it a lot hotter than it should be in the fall.

I agree with dylan, heat waves are definitely a huge thing to think about when fighting against climate change.

Indeed, heat waves are due to forest fire, but are also due to the overall human activities. it's a fact that forest fires are one of the many consequences of the climate change, and we could also think about the temperature changes throught the seasons or the rising water of the oceans.

hi, I'm Silvia, I agree with Dylan, the heat waves are ruining the nature of our country, in my opinion the heat waves are also due to human pollution and this heat will not make us experience the winter as we would like, seen that due to the high temperatures it will snow much less.
just think that we are in November and in the mountain there are 18/20 degrees.
