Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Don't be picky!!!

LaFeli$h

So many people, including adults, are so picky. But do you know some people like Africans can't even PICK what to eat? Sometimes they don't even have food to eat. So please, do what you can to not be picky, eat everything, and most importantly, NOT WASTE FOOD!! If you are spoiled, I recommend you train yourself, and you will be independent and responsible in no time!

This is true. A lot of people take what they have for granted. Food waste is a waste of natural resources and causes harm to biodiversity. Research showed that about one third of food in the world gets thrown away, which is really crazy!

i couldn't agree more on this!!! this is so well said! it's sad how food gets taken for granted and how so much food is just straight up wasted. . .

I agree, It's better you eat what you receive and don't waste food, if you don't like what's on your plate give it to someone who will eat it and likes it, or don't get it in the first place. Many others around and around the globe wish to eat what you eat and wish they had food. As another commenter said, Angelwilliams, research shows that about one third of food in the world gets thrown away, so please don't waste food and our environment.

I definitely agree with your statement. Food waste is such a big problem in some developed countries. That is why each person is responsible for what they consume and what they don't. If you can't eat all the food, then buy less next time. Don't throw the food away, leave it for tomorrow's breakfast, etc. There are many people who can't even choose what to eat for their next meal or sometimes don't know if they will have a next meal.

I definitely agree with this statement as I see so many people at restaurants send back their order because they didn’t like the food. I understand if you do that because there was genuinely something wrong with the dish, or be grateful that you have access to good food and finish the meal served in front of you. Better yet, if you physically can’t eat what’s in front of you then box it up and give it to a homeless

I agree that when people to take advantage of the current situations they live in, they forget how lucky they are to have a roof over their heads. Some people also may waste food while others are starving around the world. One good example would be The United States of America, and said by feedingamerica.org, “According to the USDA, more than 34 million people, including 9 million children, in the United States are food insecure.”

I agree! Most people forget how lucky they are that they could waste food while others are barely getting scraps, it's quite sad to see. Some people throw away their food that is perfectly fine, just because they didn't like it. This wastes perfectly fine food that they could've given to someone who's in need.
