What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Improve Food Waste
There are too many people in the world that waste food. Whether it is not wanting to finish the food on your plate or forget the food as it rots or molds. Lots of people around the world relates to food waste and throwing away food everyday. When food rots, it produces and releases methane. Methane can effect the environment bu causing pollution and climate change. More than 90% of the global population breathes in unhealthy air. How can we decrease the amount of food waste we have right now?
I agree with you that there are many people wasting food. To this world there are a lot of people that waste food by not looking at other people's food and help. To decrease the amount of food that we waste is to make a presentation to people that are wasting food so they can learn their lesson and make a change.
That has been indeed a big problem especially since the invention of products such as plastic and preservatives which facilitate food trade all around the world. Therefore, people buy more food because it is much more accessible to everyone and takes less time to prepare. This is a big problem in my country. Here, many people follow the principle "The more, the better!" which unfortunately leads to a lot of expired food being thrown away and plenty of wasted money.
I think people should be more encouraged to cook more and share their food with not just their family but with their neighbours and friends as well.
