Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Global warming

I  believe that one of the biggest factors influencing global warming is the excess of natural resources. The greenhouse effect that is currently being created is also due to human overexploitation of natural resources namely fossil fuels, ores, water, soil, but also biodiversity.
Given the fact that they are nonregeneable resources, I do not support exaggeration în their use, but recommend moderate use.

Hi, I totally agree with you, I think the uncontrolled consumption of natural resources it is a crazy thing! I want to open a small question about global warming and the effects it is taking in the place where I live. Year after year I'm seeing the increasing of catastrophic events, floods, melting glaciers and enormous damage to flora and fauna. The bees are going to disappearing and the soils are increasing fragile due to drought!!!

I agree where i live in calfornia there has also been a major increase in catastrophic events such as severve wildfires, droughts, and flooding. This has caused me to think of the effects of our personal carbon footprint. While on the large scale mass production and usage of natural reasouces is extremely harmful, we as humans are supporting this mass usage of natural reasources whether this be through using heat, elctricty, or the cars we drive. I think the first step to solving global warming is focusing on ourselves first.

I agree, I believe that instead of using natural resources to fuel our inventions, using renewable energy such as wind would keep the natural resources, while preventing the spread of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

I think this perspective on the issue is very well thought out. While we take from the planet, we should also be finding new ways to give back to it so that we are not constantly killing it. There are many different kinds of renewable energy that we could use instead of fossil fuels but it takes more than just that. Being able to change our lifestyles is a huge factor that really does make a difference. By using less electricity and saving water by turning the sink off while we brush our teeth and taking shorter showers, we can all help our planet.
