Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food waste

I think we know how important is food for everyone. Some people do not have enough food to support their family and those who have it waste it by throwing it in the trash. I propose to change this and enjoy the things we have.

I feel like its more than just what you are saying. I agree that there is people who do not have enough money to buy food but sometimes that is actually there fault. A lot of people who do not have enough money to feed their bellies is because they are spending there money on drugs, alcohol and pleasure. I agree with what you are saying but it is a whole lot more than just throwing away food.

Yeah I totally agree with you, I live in California and most of the people I know throw away their food without a second thought. They don't try to compost it or do anything else. I feel like this is a large problem that many people just don't think about
