What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Community Gardens
Community gardens should be implemented in many areas. Community gardens can both help people in need of food and reduce our carbon footprint. These gardens provide many people with access to fresh food that they would be unable to access otherwise, feeding the community. This also means that easily accessible processed food could go down in demand if more people have access to better options, lowering the carbon emissions from disposing of these products and producing them. Large community gardens should be implemented in many cities and poor communities by the government.
