Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Starvation

Lance Gillen

Lack of food has always been an issue for us, and lately, millions have died each year from it. In fact, more people die from eating too much than eating too little now. Managing our eating habits more responsibly and donating when we can really helps all of us and is what we all need to be able to do to fix this modern problem in our society. Less fortunate people benefit from this the most too, because they can focus a little bit more on other important things with more accessible food.
