In the Northern Hemisphere in 2017 and 2018 brought several destructive hurricanes to the shores of North America, the Caribbean, and throughout the Pacific rim. Such extreme weather events are predicted to get more common and more severe with increasing climate change.
Several participating classes in the ISCFC were or are in the path of these storms and we hope for the best for them, their families and communities.
We would love to hear from students affected directly and indirectly by extreme weather events, and also any students who have been following the news this summer.
What are your thoughts about the connection between climate change and extreme weather events? Has this hurricane season increased your concern about climate change or not? Do you think that US citizens and residents (and others in the region) will take climate change more seriously now?

Recent weather is endangering many people
This past year weather all around the country has been crazy. Weather around the country has been changing dramatically and many of my family members that live in other states have been endangered. It has terrified my family because we are scared something really bad is coming our way. As Tyler said the increase in temperature has changed a lot, and there have been lots of records of high temperature. Also, I found out that in Mexico there has been a record high in Mexico hottest region that hit 124 degrees ferenhite. This is very surprising to me because I visit Mexico every summer and it's never been that hot. Also in the Bay area, the weather has been changing so much that it is too hard for me to decide what to wear because every day there are different predictions. Finally, I wish the weather will get better by not fluctuating and not hurting and killing many lives
